Do You Regret The Time You Lost Your Virginity?

Brooke Shields just announced that she regretted not having sex early.

“I think I would have had sex a lot earlier,” she says to Health magazine. “I think I would have been much more in touch with myself.”

Shields was not speaking to Vogue or Cosmopolitan. She was speaking to Health magazine. So you have to listen to her. Seriously.

The actress thinks that losing her virginity at 22 was late. “I think I wouldn’t have had issues with weight – I carried this protective 20 pounds [in college]. It was all connected,” she says. “I think I would have lost my virginity earlier than I did at 22.”

It now threw a monkey screw into our stew. What do we now tell our kids?

Should they keep their virginity for a long time or should they lose it as soon as possibly?

“The older I get, the younger I feel,” the actress says. “Growing up, I was always the kid, but I spoke like an adult and was in adult roles…I always thought when you get older, you’ll want to slow down, but I want to do even more.”

To hell with AIDS, pregnancy and STDs. Brooke Shields wanted sex early.

Do You Regret The Time You Lost Your Virginity?

You may ask who is Brooke Shields to say. But wasn’t she the one that talked about postpartum depression which put Tom Cruise in trouble when he tried to prescribe Scientology to her instead of psychiatry?

So don’t even try to say she is giving young women the wrong message -unless you want her to debate Bristol Palin on Today with Matt Lauer.

Obviously, Brooke Shields is not giving young girls excuse to avoid exercise. She is not creating a new reason why some young girls’ loss control of their bodies. Ms. Shields knows what she is talking about. After all, she went to Princeton University.

Do you agree?

When did you lose your virginity? Was it too late or too early? Did it have impact on how you view your body?

Are you now making up for time you lost?

Girls here are giving birth to babies at 14-15.

Molly, that is because their parents are not paying any attention to where they are or what they are doing, media is not responsible for raising kids, that is the parents job.

I wouldn’t believe a self serving person who thinks her live is more valuable than others
Why is it humans even give a second look at people like her but not a glance to the billions of humans that have stories to tell and no one cares
Theses useless actors and actresses get paid well for the little they contribute to society
That tells alot about weak mentally of humans who want to make heroes of people or of unknown gods
No wonder humans are still primative and unequal in there feelings for all

What you said has a point Wayne, but then we can't ignore that people listen to them and unfortunately the young generation love to follow their footsteps.

Sorry but it wound me up
People want to look up instead of looking at humans as equals

I think all the meds have gone to her head. Since no one is paying any attention to her any more, she had to say something stupid to grab a little spotlight. That is the problem with being narcissistic, you eventually get to the bottom of the heap and have to show your true colors.

Answer to the question do you have regrets? Hell no, the only thing I missed out on was sexually transmitted diseases, unwanted pregnancies, questions of paternity, being devalued in the eyes of the people who matter to me, poverty and a boat load of drama. If I had it to do all over, I do do exactly the same thing, keep my legs closed!

Who cares about what she says. And people will do what they want. They don't have to listen to her for that

@Nuya

Why do younger people hail these stupid celebrities as their role model ?

Beats me Arvind, people in the media put their pants on 1 leg at a time just like the rest of us. They have to deal with broken washing machines, being late for appointments, getting sick and all the minutia of everyday life. Almost all of them started out as waiters, grocery stockers, or gardeners. How that makes them any more noteworthy than than the scientists, doctors and teachers who worked odd jobs to pay for an education is totally beyond me!

When I was a kid, all of my friends had pictures of Donny Osmond on their walls, I had pictures of Mr. Spock from the TV show Star Trek on mine, not the actor that played him, but the character. That character was intelligent, logical, rational and reasonable, I really admired that.

If I had to guess why young people admire media figures so much, I would have to say that their parents focused on the external things in life like money, prestige, looks, clothes etc. and they never learned about intrinsic values. Also, they may admire the fact that these people are rewarded handsomely for doing very little and that appeals to the laziness in them.

Let her regret. Why are we people starting a debate on what she thinks about herself?

Pawarin yo have missed an important point. You seem to forget that younger lot often treat these celebrities as role models. What they eat, what they wear and what they drink etc. often come to shape the living pattern of their followers. So you just cannot ignore the fact that what they preach sometimes ,if not often, stir the innocent minds.

Rudolf has raised an important point, albeit in his usual lighter vain.

Thats why its good to ban those comments in papers. Press freedom should be curbed to not entertain such nonsense.Younger lot is expected to be a hippy hoppy section. When I was a teenager nobody cared to hear second time what I said. They called me names of being a lot wise person becos I didnt go after these cine or modelling lot who always speak nonsense and do and show nonsense. Aged people make money out of those younger lot and society expects a young person to be crazy about such idiosyncronies.

I don’t think any young people even know who she is, she is just a washed up child star and way to old to appeal to teenagers. I agree Pawarin, that should have been between her and her therapist/s

Dear Brent

We people believe that drugs and alchohol are not life. Coming to societies in our India everything happens more than what it happens there. But none comes out with truth.

India knows truth but led astray.
If a person drinks or takes drugs its not hep. is it?
In the same way if you speak rubbish like virginity in public the mind starts acting upon it. It goes to the act of sex and looking at it separately from marriage which is not moralistic.
You people who dont want to see someone suffering from poverty or illiteracy then how can you see people suffering becos of bad mind set. its even horrible. I tell you i fasted many days and i dont mind being without food if it comes to that . But not having clean conscience affects all. All are human beings . We all have same conscience and constitution.

@mary

It's all about cultures. it's all about the free society which your country perhaps doesn't endorse as of now. i don't condemn your society coz what is a music to some, may be noise to others. What you think is according to your society and what the person concerned here is talking is according to her culture. that's is why west and east are miles away and different. what say?????
