This may be the last time I will write about you, George W. Bush, until it is time to write your obituary.
It has been a long eight years. You and I know that it has been tough – tough for me and tough for you. You essentially ruined my life, my trust in government and my belief in the goodness of man. And I am sure that my disapproval of your performance ruined your dream of proving wrong your father’s assumption that you are nothing more than a prodigal son.
You feared your father’s failure so much that it drove you into a catastrophic failure of your own.
There is not much we can do to unmake some of the things you did. We have to live with the lessons of our error. It is one of those things about life. We have no option but to accept the good and bad about our fellow man. So, I bid you farewell.
History is now waiting in judgment. It is your solace. Mine is in knowing that you will no longer do much more harm to this world of ours.
As you spend your twilight years, I do not expect you to regret much. I know you will put up a brave face. You should keep saying that you did what you thought was right. It would have been okay if really you did think. Past presidents who messed up just like you maintained the same position up to their graves.
I cannot judge your conscience. You alone know what your conscience says to you. If it makes you happy, be happy in Dallas. If it makes you sad, know that I am sad too.
You had privileges you wasted. I hope you will have the humility to let our wound heal before your sprinkle those recycled wasted on it.
The comedians will miss you. The beneficiaries of the military industrial complex will miss you. Those who need a villain to fuel their desire for conflict will miss you. The children of old Jerusalem will miss you. I will not.
You conned us, most of us. After today, we can safely consign your yesterdays, our yesterdays, to the dustbin of history. It favored the fools. But fools all die when tomorrow comes.
Goodbye, George W. Bush. It’s been nice meeting you.
That is a better title.
You been listening to Rush Limbaugh too long. Thank goodness you 22%ers are now the ”immoral minority!”
Let’s see, now, biggest electoral college victory in 44 years, largest popular vote since Reagan, carried the white vote in FL, OH, IN.
The US of A is officially out of rehab!
i am happy to say goodbye to the worst president the united states has ever seen.
hopefully our wounds heal, both as a nation and as a world.
G.W. took yours along with a large part of the world’s, however, it gave room for rebirth....Rebirth of the type of nation your forefather’s left you: independent, just, and UNITED..
He shed light on the ”cracks” which were forming within. It shows what power, conceit, and ignorance can really do..It only took one man and eight years to defy and disassemble great nation.
Had he NOT run the U.S. to the ground with arrogance and attempts to ”outbeat” his father, there would be no need for the new HOPE and CHANGE being offered by President Obama..
May your country’s (and the world’s) faith, foundations, and unity be restored from this day forward.
Look up ”Darfur” in Wikipedia, then tell us how W’s intervention in Africa saved a lot of lives.
And Oscar, pues tienes mucho razon! It’s ironic that W will now be seen as one of the great civil rights leaders in the USA! Had he not done such a horrible job as president, McCain might have won. So thanks, W, for putting a black person in the White House!
And here I am, a card carrying member of the GOP since AuH2O, in Ohio, part of the 52% white majority in Ohio that voted for Obama. As my 16 yr old son would say, ”wicked crazy.”
Bush had a very comprehensive AIDS plan in Africa and was very much appreicated there..

and if you were a true card-carrying Republican I doubt you would be this gung-ho. I was willing to give Obama a chance, but he’s already blowing it in his first few days.

No one is above mistakes, but to not even try to take responsibility of his lack of judgement is his greatest error.
But like I said..it’s a tough job, someone had to do it..He’s done, it’s over..For better or for worse he opened eyes and prepared a country to accept change and hopefully work towards rebuilding.
