Why do they hate President Obama so much?

“What happened to America?” asked a regular visitor to the United States.
He has not been here in a year. He was hoping to see Hope and Change but instead he saw a country in despair.
“What did y’all do to my beloved America?” he asked again. “What happened?”
“Obama,” I answered.
“Obama happened?”
“Yes,” I said.
“What do you mean?”
I explained to him that Obama entered into a storm and made it a perfect storm. The world started changing during the Clinton years; millions of Americans were beginning to be displaced by changing economic realities. Bush came and blanketed the changing world with an old world phenomenon – war. It helped put America on an unsustainable path. It set the stage for a high octane atmosphere full of economical, social and politically displaced people desperate to hold on to something familiar. Into this storm entered a smart, young, black man who was determined to spin America 360 degrees around.
“It was too much for many,” I said.
He shrugged. And then he asked, “Why do they hate Obama so much?”

It has been a long time since a president has been hated so much by so few for trying to do too much and too fast.

The congregation that hates Obama is unique in their composition.

There are those who did not vote for Obama. Among this group are those who do not want the result of the last election to stand. They cannot accept that Obama is their president. They cannot wait for another three years to vote him out. They want him out now- by any means necessary. What keeps this group up at night is any opportunity to say ‘we told you so.” They are looking for it, digging, sipping, licking and faking. They will believe anything.

There are those who thought they have found an obedient black man who will not shake the system, no matter how unjust it might be. They are shocked at how the man who promised change is transforming the landscape of America. They feel tricked. They feel they should have trusted their first instinct.

There are the natives - the Lou Dobbs’ people. Beside Mexico where they go to buy illegal drugs, they have never been abroad. But they can tell you how the world outside works, especially concerning socialized medicine and swastika. They fear change even when it is from bad to good.

And then there are those who are pissed that a black man is the president of the United States. They are usually the ones who preface their rants with the expression, this is not about race. They want this seven months long nightmare to go away. Today.

If Obama is doing too much and too fast, it is because that is the only way to bring about change. Too little and too slow is the reason why in over 60 years nobody has been able to give some citizens of the greatest, wealthiest and most powerful country in the world basic health care. It is a shame that our children and our children’s children will look back to and clearly call our era the dark ages.

If there is this amount of hatred over health insurance, imagine what will happen when Obama proposes the comprehensive immigration reform that will put illegal immigrants on the path to citizenship. Many of these people who hate Obama now will be packing their things and heading to those countries with socialized medicine.

I do not blame anybody who hates Obama. I blame those who are hiding the good news from them.

The good news is that Obama is going to be around for the next seven years. So if you are pissed off now, get ready because it is going to be a long road for you. You really should start learning German today. By the time it hits you that Obama is not going anywhere in 2012, you can easily resettle in Germany, where you will feel at home.

Another thing- listening to yourself scream often makes you think the world is screaming with you. I wish those who did not vote for Obama will shut up just for a day. They will be surprised that America is a very serene country. But of course, they are incapable of that.

So ride on, I say to y’all. Make all the noise you can. The dinosaurs made the same noise before they were extinct.

Don’t worry folks, history will remember that you guys were here. Your intelligent scribbles all over the internet will last for another 200 years. It is a promise.

So let me see if I understand you sir. If I disagree with White House policy, I am un-American? A racists because I do not agree that illegal immigrants should be entitled to anything more than a bus ride to the border? With all of the homeless and jobless American citizens that need some support during these trying times, I should embrace the compassion for illegals that worked for below minimum wages and kept hard working American citizens on the welfare roles?

Or maybe because I am white and of European ancestry, it automatically makes me racist? I raged when Bush was allowed to take office after the disputed votes in Florida. I called for his impeachment when it was apparent that he and Dick Cheney lied about WMD in Iraq, so that we would be supportive of a war.

I screamed to stop out taxes from going to bailouts for greedy insurance companies and banks. I screamed to stop the blatant coercion of mortgage bankers to approve loans to those individuals who did not have the means to pay back their debts.

I write to my representatives in Congress when I have issues with legislation or want them to propose new legislation to correct the errors of the past.

But sir, I have no problem with Barack Obama being elected as my President, and I support policies that he puts forth when they are in the best interests of America. But perhaps we need to define America.

America is the people, the citizens that work and go to school, and pay taxes. America is the people that deliver you mail, the foods you buy at the grocer, and repair the streets so you can drive without breaking an axle.

America is not AIG, GM, Ford, Chrysler, Chase-Morgan, or even the Federal Reserve. More importantly, our President and all of our elected representatives work for US! That is not US as in United States, but US as in ”We the People.”

And President Obama promised transparency in government; in which of the next 3-7 years will that change occur?

I have no problem with change, as it occurs all the time. I do take issue however with changes that are detrimental to our liberties and rights as Americans.

The Constitution has worked just fine for over two hundred years, and I do not feel it needs any tweaking. My rights to free speech and to bear arms WILL NOT be infringed upon by anyone.

Finally, how about if the President puts that birth certificate issue to bed once and for all by coming out with it. As hard as I find it to believe that President Obama took the oath of office without being eligible, however I get this nagging feeling that HE must make this right and not the spin doctors or his opponents.

I trust that I have ruffled a few fathers, and to that I say, ”Deal with it. It’s reality.”

Is Barack Hussein Obama a Muslim?? I thought he converted 20 years ago to that church of Rev Jeramiah Wright in Chicago. Am I wrong? I remember that his dad was a black Muslim from Kenya but he was brought up in his early childhood with a Muslim dad in Indonesia. I think for the past twenty years he was a Christain.

Mcgain and Palin are inciting hatred against Obama. They are calling him even a terrorist. I wonder how Americans can listen to such people? I hope they will never let the Obama 's popularity graph down. With their false propaganda he is gaining more and more people's sympathy.

Are any of you making these comments in touch with reality? Did you read and comprehend what I said? I notice that no one has commented on my post. Not so much as an insult? I guess it must have been ringing true for you also.

Personally, I think that focusing on Obama is a mistake. We need to focus on Frank, Pelosi, Waters, and the rest of the liberal extremists that see government interference in our personal lives as a good thing.
